IF I COULD HAVE ……….
If I could have a life of ease,
when the grass is always green,
And the flowers bloom with mosaic scents.
With the birds on singing spree.
If I could have a life of ease,
And every wish emerges for real,
And all around smile in approval,
Of friendship deep and true.
If I could have a life of ease.
No contesting, No contending, No pretending.
If I could lie down any where for a nap;
Free of disturbance, caring nothing of fright or stir.
If I could have a life of ease.
And nothing said or done is fueled by malice.
And all around is free of blame.
Gossips, Slander and maligning are foreign to all.
If I could have a life of ease,
Enfused with eternal youthfulness,
Bubbling with vigour and robust health,
There is no hospice or mortuary in sight.
If I could have a life of ease,
When the streets are full of laughter.
And no offence can stir the temper,
With every word seasoned with salt
If I could have a life of ease,
When wasteful opulence is banished,
When no sight saddens the heart,
And hunger, penury and lack have no captives.
If I could have a life of ease,
When righteousness overwhelms the land,
And shamed sinners scramble for cover,
And jail houses and prisons turn out saints.
What life, that would be!
If ever I found myself in such a place,
I would exclaim in triumphant cry.
This must be the millennial reign-Christ is here.
