"THE WORKINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: John 16:8-11(And when he comes, he will convince the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.)

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

October 2025

Dear Sunday School Family,

Grace and peace to you all! As we close the beautiful month of October, our hearts are filled with gratitude for all that God has done in our Sunday School. It has been a month of powerful learning, deep worship, and growing closer to God through the workings of the Holy Spirit.

Our October Journey

This month, God took us on an exciting journey of discovery. We explored how the Holy Spirit works in our lives, particularly focusing on worship and how the Spirit manifests among believers. From faith-building exercises to experiencing the fire of Pentecost, our children and teachers have been blessed beyond measure.

What We Learned This Month

On Sunday, October 5th, we kicked off the month with our BISAPP (Bible Study and Prayer Project). Aunty Chika taught us about “The Faith Building Exercises” from Jude 1:20 and Ephesians 4:22-30. Our memory verse, Luke 9:62, reminded us that once we put our hand to the plough, we should not look back. The children learned that building our faith is like exercising our bodies – it takes practice and dedication. We must continue to pray in the Holy Spirit and remain in God’s love. After BISAPP, we had a wonderful film show that brought the lessons to life in a special way.

Sunday, October 12th brought us deeper into worship as Uncle Ehis shared about “Worship in Action.” Drawing from Psalm 98:4-8 and Psalm 100:1-5, he helped us understand that worship is not just singing songs – it’s a way of life. Our memory verse, John 4:24, taught us that “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The children discovered that the Holy Spirit stirs us into worship. When we allow the Spirit to move in our hearts, worship becomes natural and beautiful. They learned that true worship comes from deep inside us, guided by the Holy Spirit.

On Sunday, October 19th, Uncle Dipo opened our eyes to the “Benefits of Worship.” Using scriptures from 2 Chronicles 5:13-14, 2 Chronicles 20:20-22, Psalm 63:1-5, and Acts 16:25-26, he showed us that worship is powerful. Our memory verse was Psalm 18:3: “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.” The children were amazed to learn that true worship attracts benefits. When we worship God genuinely, He moves on our behalf. Worship can bring deliverance, victory, and God’s presence into our situations. Just like Paul and Silas worshipped in prison and their chains fell off, our worship releases God’s power in our lives.

Sunday, October 26th marked an exciting transition as we began a new sub-theme on the Manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Aunty Teni took us back to the Day of Pentecost with her lesson on “Apostles’ Tongues of Fire.” From Acts 2:1-8, we learned how the Holy Spirit dramatically came upon the early believers. Our memory verse, Joel 2:28, promises that God will “pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” The children learned that the Holy Spirit manifests in believers in real and powerful ways. The same Spirit that came on the apostles is available to us today. When we open our hearts to Him, the Holy Spirit can work through us to do amazing things for God’s kingdom.

Looking Ahead to November

We are excited about what God has in store for us in November! Our cherub choir will be performing at the Choir Festival on November 9th. We invite everyone to come and support our young ones as they lift their voices in praise to God. Let us keep them in our prayers as they prepare to minister through song.

A Word of Encouragement

Dear parents, teachers, and children, October has shown us that the Holy Spirit is not a distant force but a present helper in our lives. As we move into November, let us continue to worship God in spirit and truth, allowing the Holy Spirit to manifest in and through us. Remember, worship is not just what we do on Sundays – it’s a lifestyle that brings us closer to God every single day.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Stay blessed and keep worshipping!
