"THE WORKINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: John 16:8-11(And when he comes, he will convince the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.)

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

November 2025

Dear Sunday School Family,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ! What a blessed month November has been! God has continued to reveal the wonderful workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives. From learning about end-time readiness to celebrating with our cherub choir, and discovering how the Holy Spirit manifests in different ways, this month has been filled with God’s presence and power.

Our November Journey

November took us deeper into understanding how the Holy Spirit manifests among believers. We learned from powerful Bible stories about Cornelius, Paul and Barnabas, and explored the beautiful fruits and gifts of the Spirit. Our children have grown in their understanding that the same Holy Spirit who worked in Bible times is still working today, in us and through us.

What We Learned This Month

On Sunday, November 2nd, we began the month with our BISAPP (Bible Study and Prayer Project). Aunty Umarani taught us about “End Time Upheavals and The Holy Spirit” from 2 Timothy. Our memory verse, Matthew 24:42, reminded us to “watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.” The children learned that as we approach the end times, the world may face troubles and challenges, but the Holy Spirit is our helper and guide. We must stay alert, stay prayed up, and stay close to God. The Holy Spirit will give us wisdom and strength to stand firm in these last days. After BISAPP, we enjoyed a film show that helped bring these important truths to life.

Sunday, November 9th was a very special day for our Sunday School! Uncle Ehis taught us about the “Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit” from Galatians 5:22-23 and 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Our memory verse reminded us of the beautiful fruit the Spirit produces: “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” The children learned that the Holy Spirit gives us both fruits and gifts. The fruits are the character qualities that make us more like Jesus – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The gifts are special abilities the Spirit gives us to serve God and help others. We had a wonderful time with art and craft activities that helped us remember these fruits and gifts. But the highlight of the day was our cherub choir’s performance at the Wonderful Choir Festival! Our young voices lifted up praise to God, and we are so proud of how beautifully they ministered. What a joyful day it was!

On Sunday, November 16th,  we continued exploring the Manifestation of the Holy Spirit under our central theme, The Workings of the Holy Spirit. Aunty Nkem taught the children the sobering story of Ananias and Sapphira from Acts 5:1–11, highlighting the importance of honesty, integrity, and reverence for God. Our memory verse for the day, Daniel 2:22, reminded the children that God reveals deep and hidden things and that nothing is concealed from Him. This Sunday was extra special because our Sunday School participated in the community hymn singing, and we even had our own special hymn to share. Our voices joined with others to worship God in unity!

Sunday, November 23rd, Aunty Uzo shared the amazing story of “Cornelius” from Acts 10:1-6, 9-20, and 44-47. Our memory verse was Acts 2:4: “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” The children discovered how God used the Holy Spirit to bring Peter and Cornelius together. Cornelius was a Gentile who loved God, and God sent an angel to direct him. At the same time, God gave Peter a vision to prepare him. When Peter preached to Cornelius and his household, the Holy Spirit fell on them powerfully! The children learned that the Holy Spirit breaks down barriers and brings people together in Christ. God’s Spirit is for everyone who believes

Sunday, November 30th closed our month with Aunty Chika Agu teaching about “Paul and Barnabas” from Acts 13:2-3, 16:6-7, and 21:10-12. Sister Bose Adebayo led us in beautiful worship. Our memory verse was Acts 16:13. The children learned how the Holy Spirit guided Paul and Barnabas in their missionary work. The Spirit called them, sent them out, directed their paths, and even warned them when necessary. Sometimes the Spirit told them where to go, and sometimes the Spirit told them where not to go! The children discovered that when we listen to the Holy Spirit, He will guide us in the right direction. The Spirit leads us, protects us, and uses us for God’s purposes. We must be sensitive to His voice and obedient to His leading.

Looking Ahead to December

The season of celebration is upon us! December promises to be an exciting month as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to our Christmas concert where our children will showcase what they’ve learned and minister through songs, recitations, and drama. We will also have our Christmas party – a time of fellowship, fun, and celebration together as a Sunday School family. Let us prepare our hearts not just for the festivities, but to truly celebrate the greatest gift ever given to mankind – Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!

A Word of Encouragement

Dear parents, teachers, and children, November has shown us that the Holy Spirit is active, powerful, and personal. He manifests in many different ways – through fruits that change our character, through gifts that empower our service, through visions and guidance, and through His presence that transforms lives. As we learned from Cornelius, Paul, and Barnabas, the same Spirit who worked in the early church is working in us today. Let us continue to yield ourselves to Him, listen to His voice, and allow Him to manifest through us in whatever way He chooses.

May the Holy Spirit continue to fill you, guide you, and use you mightily for God’s glory.

Stay blessed and Spirit-filled!
