To celebrate their 44th anniversary, the Fellowship of Love, in conjunction with the Evangelism Department, organized a dental outreach on June 8, 2024. The anniversary celebration took place on June 16, 2024, but the outreach event served as an integral part of the festivities, emphasizing both physical and spiritual well-being.
The event was a holistic initiative that blended faith and health, providing a unique opportunity for participants to receive both spiritual guidance and essential dental care. As part of the outreach, the Evangelism Department offered spiritual counseling to attendees, fostering an environment of reflection and growth. Many participants found solace and guidance in these sessions, and several new converts were welcomed into the fold, marking a significant spiritual milestone in their lives.
After receiving spiritual nourishment, attendees were directed to the medical team for dental services. The team of dedicated healthcare professionals offered a range of services, including oral screenings, counseling on oral hygiene, and procedures like scaling and polishing. These services were aimed at promoting better oral health among the participants, underscoring the importance of maintaining good dental hygiene as part of overall health.
For more complex dental issues, some cases were referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for further investigation and treatment. This referral system ensured that participants received comprehensive care tailored to their needs, reflecting the outreach’s commitment to improving community health.
