"THE WORKINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: John 16:8-11(And when he comes, he will convince the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.)

Almighty God you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you; keep us firm in the hope of our calling and having this hope may we purify ourselves and anchor our lives steadfastly by your word, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
REJOICING IN HOPE – Romans 5:2
All my hope on God is founded;
he doth still my trust renew.
Me through change and chance he guideth,
only good and only true.
God unknown, he alone
calls my heart to be His own
Rejoicing in hope is a possession in Christ which is a blessing of justification.
In our anchor text we read of the blessing of justification which is obtaining access by faith into grace and rejoicing in hope of God’s glory. So, our possession in Christ is rejoicing in hope. Not only do we rejoice merely but we boast in the glory of God since we have been justified by faith. Since we have certain possessions in Christ, we boast about and glory in the hope of the glory of God. Note that glory is one of the richest concepts in the bible and it means “beauty”, power, honour. Glory is a quality of God’s character that emphasizes His exceeding greatness and authority. This glory is shown ultimately and most gloriously in the person of Jesus Christ – John 1:14-18
We shall also behold his glory on the last day as we hope in God. Therefore, let us continue to rejoice in that Jesus Christ who has given us hope for eternal life.
It is my prayer that God will help us to remain in Him so that we will not miss heaven at last.
WILL YOUR ANCHOR HOLD
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
Fastened to the rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love!
