"THE WORKINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: John 16:8-11(And when he comes, he will convince the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.)

HAS GOD SAID?

The first recorded words of Satan in the Bible were not a direct denial of God but a subtle question: “Has God really said?” This question became the gateway to humanity’s fall. Rather than attacking Eve physically, the serpent attacked her confidence in God’s Word. The enemy understood then, as he does now, that when God’s Word is questioned, obedience soon becomes optional.
Satan’s strategy unfolds in four stages. First, he questions God’s Word. By asking, “Has God said?” he sought to plant uncertainty in Eve’s mind. Today, believers are confronted with similar questions through false teachings, worldly philosophies, and moral relativism that challenge the authority of Scripture.

Second, he distorts God’s Word. The serpent misrepresented God’s command, making it appear restrictive and unreasonable. The devil continues to twist Scripture, taking verses out of context or promoting half-truths that appeal to human desires while obscuring God’s intentions.

Third, he encourages doubt. Once Eve entertained the distorted message, she began to doubt God’s goodness and motives. Satan suggested that God was withholding something beneficial from her. Likewise, Christians today are often tempted to question God’s love, wisdom, and faithfulness when faced with trials or delayed answers to prayer.

Finally, doubt leads to disobedience. Eve chose to act on the serpent’s words rather than God’s command. Every act of sin begins with a diminished regard for God’s Word. When God’s truth is replaced by human reasoning or personal preference, disobedience inevitably follows.
The antidote to Satan’s deception is unwavering confidence in the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word. Jesus demonstrated this during His temptation in the wilderness by answering every satanic suggestion with the declaration, “It is written.” God’s Word must remain the believer’s final authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct.

Genesis 3:1 serves as a timeless warning. Christians must be vigilant, discerning every voice against the truth of Scripture. We are called not merely to hear God’s Word but to believe it, cherish it, and obey it completely. True victory over the enemy is found in steadfast faith and wholehearted obedience to God.

Whenever the question arises, "Has God said?", the believer's response should be one of unwavering convictions: "Yes, God has spoken, and His Word is true forever."

"Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, 'Has God really said...?'" (Genesis 3:1)
